Good morning, it’s Leonie Hunt from Getmore2Life and it is Day 12 of “The End of my Fat Years Journey”.
Look, today I was probably struggling a little bit with what to share with you.
A lot is going on, at the moment. But I guess it’s about quietening my mind. I think any journey that you take, when you want to make changes in your life, often it’s probably 95% a mind game and it is your chance to explore mindfulness.
That inner voice that keeps telling you, you don’t need to do that, that can wait till tomorrow. But I just read some things today that I thought I’d share with you, which, really did make me think because when you’re young, you’re told to mind your manners and when you’ve launched your business told to mind business, well today is about minding your mind.
And I give credit to, Vision Magazine where I read about consciously addressing your thoughts and perhaps changing, your perception.
I remember a great mentor of mine saying to me, once it’s not what happens to you in life, it’s what you do about it. And that’s really where your mind comes in. You know, your thoughts determine who you are and where you go.
If you hear that negative self-talk the best thing I find to do is just to say, thank you. I hear what you’re saying, but I choose not to believe it. I do that because in trying to ignore that negative self-talk it just seems to get louder and louder and louder. Whereas if I do acknowledge it and think it, it does tend to go away and I can then move into a better headspace.
It’s okay to put yourself first because when you’re looking after yourself, everything else gets looked after around you. I can honestly say that’s the case from my experience. So the other thing that I had to do is not to waste my thoughts on people who don’t value me or value them. And, people that are watching this, whether it be live or having a look at this later do value my thoughts and I thank you for listening to my daily rants and daily I guess wisdom.
I always said this will be raw and real and it’s about how I’m feeling on the day. So, you know, this message and this journey are not for everyone to watch because it’s my journey, but I’m hoping that in some small way that it may be something that people can relate to and, join me in a journey, and where we can support each other.
The first person that I need to lead is myself. And that’s why I’ve put myself out there on social media and am sharing my journey. As I said, it’s not easy putting yourself out there, however, it’s becoming easier every day. Someone pointed out to me that when you speak about bowel movements like I did the first week, you can just about, speak about anything.
So I had a bit of a chuckle about that, but, I know that there’ll be certain things that I say that may resonate with people, and if so, I do encourage you to, reach out and ask questions, etc.
I also ask that you encourage me by leaving comments with the videos, etc, just so I know where you’re coming from, but certainly, if you’ve got questions, these are the things that I can talk about, on the daily “lives”.
The other thing I want to ensure is that my role models I.e. the people that I look up to are people of principle and integrity. And that certainly is the case.
When you’re going through change, you find that people change around you and you see people in a different light, and it may be that the people who have been around you for a long time, may not be there in the longer term.
I remember a good friend saying to me that your people come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. I have found that to be the case. So make a conscious effort to spend your time with good people. That’s really what I’m saying, as you can always learn from really good people.
You can learn from nasty ones as well, but I choose to spend my time with good people as I’m about standing in my power of what’s right in my life and putting together this daily, vlog has helped me significantly.
I’m starting to experience a little bit of a shift in the way I feel. I’m not saying I’m losing massive amounts of weight because it was never really about doing that quickly. It was about the journey.
Today’s, Words of Wisdom are to:
“Mind your Mind”. Whatever we think, does have an impact on what we do every day. So if the negative thoughts come in, just thank them “ Thank you, but I don’t agree with you. I choose to go a different path and you’ll be quite surprised how that changes your perspective and how it changes your trajectory for the day.
